FAQ

Questions engineers ask first

Not covered here? Send your drawing — an engineer replies within 2 business hours.

Why does (N)GRDGCGÖU use an EVA outer sheath over an EPR inner sheath for energy chains?
Standard polychloroprene rubber has a higher coefficient of friction against polymer and steel energy-chain crossbars. The cross-linked EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) outer sheath provides low sliding friction, high abrasion resistance, and halogen-free performance at travel speeds up to 240 m/min.
What is the advantage of the symmetrical 3×35+3G16/3 to 3×70+3G35/3 configurations?
Splitting the protective earth conductor into three equal interstices ('3G../3') between the three phase cores creates a geometrically symmetrical electromagnetic field, minimizing common-mode shaft currents and radiated EMI on high-power VFD crane hoist and travel drives.
What are the 3×16+3G2.5C and 3×25+3G4C configurations?
These motor-plus-brake composite cables integrate three unscreened power cores, a protective earth core, and a separately screened control pair/core group for motor brake release or thermal monitoring inside one energy-chain cable.
Can (N)GRDGCGÖU be used where torsional twisting occurs?
No. Because the overall tinned copper braid screen has a fixed lay angle optimized for < 100 mΩ/m transfer impedance, axial torsion is not permitted. Guide the cable strictly in-plane within the energy chain or festoon saddle.
