Longwall shearer & Bretby handler
Runs alongside power cables in longwall face spill-plates and chock-to-chock harnesses.
Product
Low-voltage 50 V flexible signal, pull-cord and intercom cable for underground longwall mining with ASTM B174 Class K copper cores (18–10 AWG, 2–9C), +90 °C non-chlorinated XLPO insulation and an MSHA TPU jacket.
Typical values for this cable type, based on ASTM B174 Class K · MSHA 30 CFR Part 7 — confirmed in the datasheet and quotation for your order.
Application fit
Heavy-duty screened underground longwall pull-key, lockout, voice-communication and pilot control cable for coal face conveyors and roof supports.
Runs alongside power cables in longwall face spill-plates and chock-to-chock harnesses.
Primary duty — gate-road and coal-face emergency trip, lockout and intercom lines.
Rugged PCP/CSP outer sheath resists rock fall, water and hydraulic emulsion along the face.
Built for face spill-plates and roadway brackets, not high-speed motorised crane reels.
Use (N)SHTÖU Control ReelNot self-supporting for deep vertical mine shafts without messenger wire.
Use BS 6708 Type 506–524Construction
Two to nine ASTM B174 Class K extra-flexible copper conductors are insulated with chemically cross-linked, non-chlorinated flame-retardant polyolefin (XLPO), planetary cabled, optionally enclosed by a full copper braid shield, and protected by an extra-tough MSHA flame-resistant thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) jacket.

| 2 | Core insulation | Chemically cross-linked, non-chlorinated, flame-retardant polyolefin (XLPO, +90 °C rated)Halogen-free thermoset |
| 3 | Core assembly & separator | Short-lay cabled insulated cores with low-friction binder tapeFlex-life optimization |
| 4 | Optional copper braid shield | Full copper wire braid shield over core assembly (optional by order)EMI/RFI & crush protection |
| 5 | Outer jacket | Extra-tough flame-retardant thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), black standard or high-visibility orange optionalMSHA 30 CFR Part 7 |
2 to 9 Class K XLPO cores under a heavy-duty black or high-visibility orange TPU jacket (40 standard sizes)
Adds an overall copper wire braid shield beneath the TPU sheath for VFD EMI rejection and extra radial crush resistance
