Drilling jumbo & rotary mast feed
Primary duty — short-lay core geometry absorbs severe twisting and flexing at rotary rock drills.
Product
72/125 V (125/72 V) five-core 5×6 mm² flexible drilling machine cable to BS 6708:1998 for handheld coal and stone drills, featuring EPR-insulated cores laid in a semiconducting cradle, conducting elastomeric inner screen and heavy-duty PCP sheath.
Typical values for this cable type, based on BS 6708 — confirmed in the datasheet and quotation for your order.
Application fit
Short-lay extra-flexible screened trailing cable to BS 6708 Type 43 (125 V / 250 V) for hand-held and boom-mounted underground coal and rock drills.
Primary duty — short-lay core geometry absorbs severe twisting and flexing at rotary rock drills.
Dragged across wet, rough heading floors between drill transformer panel and face.
Heavy polychloroprene sheath resists flush water, rock dust and hydraulic oil.
Short-lay drill cable elongates under high drum tension; do not use on crane reels.
Use (N)SHTÖU ReelingDedicated low-voltage flexible drill lead, not a long-distance roadway feeder.
Use BS 6708 Type 20/21Construction
Five equal 6 mm² (84/0.30 mm) Class 5 tinned copper conductors—3 phase, 1 earth and 1 pilot—each insulated with 1.00 mm EPR and wrapped with coloured textile identification tape, are laid up around a profiled semiconducting elastomeric cradle without contacting each other, enclosed in a 1.5 mm conducting elastomeric inner sheath/bedding and protected by a 2.5 mm heavy-duty black chloroprene (PCP) outer sheath.
