Flexible Power Cables

NEK 606 BFOU / RFOUOffshore Oil & Gas Cable

BFOU and RFOU are armoured low-smoke halogen-free cable families for fixed offshore installations. Common constructions use tinned copper conductors, EPR insulation, a halogen-free inner covering, tinned-copper-wire braid armour or screen, and an SHF2 thermoset outer sheath. RFOU is the flame-retardant family; BFOU adds a mica-based fire barrier for circuit integrity. M variants add documented oil and drilling-mud resistance.

In-house capability

In-house design

Constructions are designed around movement, environment, and electrical duty.

In-house manufacturing

Materials, dimensions, marking, and finish held under in-house manufacturing control.

Laboratory verification

In-house laboratory checks verify the agreed construction and project acceptance requirements.

Custom-to-spec · OEM / ODM

Development can start from a drawing, specification, cable marking, or physical sample.

Before you quote

Clear the questions that hold up your quote.

Short answers for engineering and procurement. The reviewed quotation and its document list govern the final supply scope.

What is the difference between BFOU and RFOU?
RFOU is the flame-retardant family. BFOU adds a mica-based fire barrier and circuit-integrity performance for emergency and critical systems.
What does the M suffix indicate?
M identifies a construction with documented oil- and drilling-mud-resistant performance; the exact tests and fluids remain product-specific.
What is the minimum order quantity?
MOQ depends on conductor size, construction, production batch, and reel length. Send the required size and total length; the quotation will state the applicable minimum quantity and packaging basis.
How quickly can the cable be delivered?
Lead time varies with material availability, construction, quantity, document scope, and destination. After the specification is reviewed, the quotation will provide a production window and an indicative shipment schedule.
How are destination-market standards and documents reviewed?
Tell us the destination market, governing standard, and end-user document requirements. They are reviewed against the selected product and available product documents; applicability is confirmed in the quotation.
Can length, sheath colour, printing, or packaging be customized?
These options can be reviewed subject to engineering suitability, regulatory requirements, MOQ, and production capability. Any approved change is recorded in the quoted specification, drawing, or order document.
