Motor stator, traction & converter leads
Engineered specifically for locomotive and EMU bogie traction motor leads and transformer connections
Product
EN 50382-2 is a halogen-free high-temperature railway rolling-stock traction power cable engineered to BS EN 50382-2 for 1.8/3 kV and 3.6/6 kV AC (up to 2.7/4.5 kV and 5.4/9 kV DC) locomotive, high-speed train, and metro bogie power circuits. Constructed with
Typical values for this cable type, based on BS EN 50382-2 — confirmed in the datasheet and quotation for your order.
Application fit
Used for high-power traction motor feeders, auxiliary converter buses, braking resistor leads, and transformer connections on high-speed trains, metros, locomotives, and light rail vehicles.
Engineered specifically for locomotive and EMU bogie traction motor leads and transformer connections
High +150 °C conductor rating allows compact cross-sections inside traction converters and roof-mounted switchgear
Approved for EN 45545-2 HL3 interior and exterior underframe fixed wiring on passenger rolling stock
Designed for carbody-to-bogie jumpers (Class 6 stranding); not a ground-drag mining cable
Not intended for automated factory drag-chain duty

Class 6 extra-flexible tinned copper stranding and -50 °C to +150 °C silicone elastomer withstand continuous bogie articulation and winter track ballast impact.
+150 °C continuous rating (short-circuit to +300 °C) allows smaller conductor cross-sections in thermally dense converter cabinets.
Certified to EN 45545-2 Hazard Level HL3 (R15/R16) for zero halogen, minimal smoke, and flame containment in underground rail tunnels.
