Application fit

Is SUCOFLEX 100 right for your machine?

Specify SUCOFLEX 100 series cables for vector network analyzer (VNA) test leads, phased-array radar beamforming networks, EW direction-finding interferometers, and thermal-vacuum satellite payloads.

Switchgear & control cabinet wiring

Suitable

Flexible upgrade to RG-402/RG-405 semi-rigid tubing, holding < 0.8°/GHz phase and ± 0.05 dB amplitude stability under flex.

VFD inverter to AC motor screened feeder

Suitable

Helically wrapped silver-plated copper flat tape plus high-density tubular braid provides > 90 dB screening through 50 GHz.

Fixed installation

Suitable

Low-density microporous PTFE minimizes the +19 °C PTFE crystal transition phase step across -55 °C to +165 °C.

Motorised monospiral reel

Not suitable

Precision microwave coax is built for VNA test benches, phased arrays, and airframe harnesses, not heavy reeling drums.

FAQ

Questions engineers ask first

Not covered here? Send your drawing — an engineer replies within 2 business hours.

How do SUCOFLEX 101, 102, 103, 104, and 106 differ across the series?
All five share the same 77 % VoP low-density microporous PTFE construction and dual flat-ribbon + tubular silver-plated copper shield, scaled by diameter and cutoff frequency: SUCOFLEX 101 (Ø 3.65 mm) operates to 50 GHz; 102 (Ø 4.0 mm) to 40 GHz; 103 (Ø 4.6 mm) to 26.5 GHz; 104 (Ø 5.5 mm) to 18 GHz; and 106 (Ø 7.9 mm) provides ultra-low insertion loss (68 dB/100m at 18 GHz) up to 18 GHz.
What is the difference between standard SUCOFLEX 104 and SUCOFLEX 104P?
Standard SUCOFLEX 104 uses a solid silver-plated copper center conductor for lowest insertion loss in fixed airframe/satellite harnesses, whereas the 'P' (Performance flex) version uses a 7-strand silver-plated center conductor for repeated dynamic flexing in VNA test leads.
Why is phase stability (< 0.8°/GHz) critical in AESA radar and VNA measurements?
In active electronically scanned array (AESA) radars and microwave interferometer direction-finders, beam steering and angle-of-arrival accuracy depend on sub-degree phase matching across channels; low-density microporous PTFE and tension-balanced tubular braiding prevent mechanical bends or thermal swings from shifting electrical length.
Can SUCOFLEX 100 be used in outer-space vacuum environments?
Yes. When ordered with space-grade conditioning (vented connectors and ECSS-Q-ST-70-02 thermal-vacuum bakeout), SUCOFLEX 100 exhibits TML < 1.0 % and CVCM < 0.1 % for GEO/LEO satellite payloads.
