Application fit

Is MGM 112 Type 62 / 63 / 64 right for your machine?

MGM 112 Type 62, Type 63 and Type 64 extend individual copper/nylon phase screening and pliable wire armour down to 4–10 mm² 2-, 3- and 4-core cables for underground roadway lighting, signalling, gate-end interlocks and small auxiliary drives.

Trailing & towing

Suitable

Underground mine lighting strings, face signalling units, drill control boxes and small auxiliary drives.

Fixed installation

Suitable

Gallery lighting feeders, methane monitoring power links and gate-end control interconnections.

Immersion & wet locations

Suitable

Heavy-duty polychloroprene (RS4/EM2) outer jacket resists wet mine roadways, oil and rock abrasion.

Motorised monospiral reel

Not suitable

Pliable wire armour is engineered for roadway and auxiliary interconnections, not fast crane reeling.

FAQ

Questions engineers ask first

Not covered here? Send your drawing — an engineer replies within 2 business hours.

How do MGM 112 Type 62, Type 63 and Type 64 differ from one another?
Aligned with BS 6708 Type 62, 63 and 64, all three are 660/1,100 V pliable-wire-armoured underground mining auxiliary cables in 4, 6 and 10 mm² conductor sizes: Type 62 has 2 individually copper/nylon-screened cores; Type 63 has 3 individually copper/nylon-screened cores; and Type 64 has 3 individually copper/nylon-screened live cores plus 1 unscreened earth core laid around a central rubber cradle.
Where are Type 62, Type 63 and Type 64 typically installed in underground mines?
They are used for 110 V to 1,100 V flameproof underground roadway lighting strings, conveyor pull-wire signalling, methane/ventilation interlocking circuits and small auxiliary drives where individual core screening and pliable steel wire armour are required.
How do Type 63 / Type 64 relate to MGM 112 Type 201 / Type 211?
Type 63 (3 screened cores) and Type 64 (3 screened + 1 earth) are the small-cross-section auxiliary series (4–10 mm²), whereas Type 201 and Type 211 extend the same individually screened pliable-wire-armoured architecture across power cross-sections up to 150 mm².
What if individual core screens are not required on my 2-, 4- or 5-core auxiliary circuits?
For unscreened armoured 660/1,100 V mining cables in 2-core, 4-core or 5-core configurations, select our MGM 112 Type E2 / E4 / E5 Unscreened Armoured Auxiliary Cable.
