Trailing & towing
Primary 12.7/22 kV trailing and section-feeder cable for open-cast shovels, medium-sized draglines, drills and movable substations.
Product
South African SANS 1520-2 Type 622 and Type 622-ECC medium-voltage screened reeling and trailing cable (12.7/22 kV, 25–150 mm²) with three braid-screened EPR power cores, EPM pilots (or tinned ECC) and twin CR sheaths.
Typical values for this cable type, based on SANS 1520-2 · SANS 1411-1 & -3 — confirmed in the datasheet and quotation for your order.
Application fit
Designed for 12.7/22 kV open-cast and underground mining machinery—including walking draglines, electric rope shovels, rotary blast-hole drills, mobile stacker-reclaimers and hazardous-area section feeders—requiring SANS 1520-2 screened power cores and selectable 3-pilot (Type 622) or high-earth-fault ECC (Type 622-ECC) protection.
Primary 12.7/22 kV trailing and section-feeder cable for open-cast shovels, medium-sized draglines, drills and movable substations.
Rated for motorized cable-reel operation on mobile mining machines when drum barrel diameter respects 9 × OD.
16-string open nylon reinforcement braid vulcanized between inner and outer CR sheaths resists reeling torsion and pull (1.1 to 6.8 kN).
UV-, sunlight- and oil-resistant twin polychloroprene (CR) sheaths withstand flooded pit benches and harsh solar exposure.
Flexible unarmoured trailing construction — do not suspend in deep vertical mine shafts without support.
Use BS 6708 Type 20/21 ArmouredConstruction
Three Class 5 tinned copper power conductors insulated with 12.7/22 kV EPR (with strippable semi-conducting core screen) are individually screened with a tinned-copper/nylon braid and laid up with three EPM-insulated pilot cores in Type 622 (or two EPM pilots plus one bare tinned copper earth-continuity conductor in Type 622-ECC), bedded in an inner CR sheath, reinforced by a 16-string open nylon braid and oversheathed in black CR rubber.
