FAQ

Questions engineers ask first

Not covered here? Send your drawing — an engineer replies within 2 business hours.

Why does Shielded PUR Spiral Signal Cable use a helical tinned copper D-screen instead of a braided wire mesh?
When a coiled spiral cable is stretched from its closed block length L0 to 3.5 × L0, the cable experiences continuous axial torsion along the helix. A rigid woven cross-braid locks the cable diameter, reduces coil spring-back elasticity, and suffers wire cross-over breakage. A helically wrapped tinned copper D-screen over a PTFE slip tape winds and unwinds smoothly with the coil while maintaining ≥ 85 % EMC coverage.
Why is TPE-E core insulation superior to PVC inside a thin-gauge screened spiral signal cable?
In fine 0.14 mm² and 0.25 mm² spiral cords, the outer PUR sheath is thin to keep the cord lightweight for handheld pendants. High-modulus TPE-E core insulation acts as an internal elastic spring that reinforces the coil's retraction memory, whereas soft PVC cores add dead weight and cause premature coil sagging.
What are typical applications for the 12×0.25 and 18×0.25 screened spiral sizes?
12×0.25 mm² and 18×0.25 mm² screened spiral cables are the standard choice for CNC manual pulse generators (MPG handwheels), robotic teach pendants, and mobile X-ray/ultrasound operator consoles that combine differential A/B encoder pulses, axis-selection rotary switches, LED status lines, and dual-channel E-stop safety contacts.
Can TEBAOFLEX supply this screened spiral cable pre-moulded with RJ45, M12, or circular aviation plugs?
Yes. We manufacture custom-moulded screened spiral assemblies with bend-relief grommets, 360°-shielded M12, Sub-D, RJ45, or multi-pin circular bayonet connectors tailored to your handheld controller.
