Furnace, kiln & high-temp zone
Engineered for continuous +450 °C service on industrial heat-treating furnaces, glass lehrs, ceramic kilns, and plastic extruders.
Product
Type MG multi-conductor +450 °C high-temperature cable constructed with 27 % nickel-plated copper conductors (ASTM B355 Class 27), individual phlogopite mica-tape and glass-braid core insulation, and an overall treated E-glass jacket for 600 V AC.
Typical values for this cable type, based on UL 758 Style 5107 / 5335 & CSA C22.2 No. 210 Type MG — confirmed in the datasheet and quotation for your order.
Application fit
Select Type MG Multi-Conductor when multi-core power or control circuits run directly inside +250 °C to +450 °C thermal zones where fluoropolymers (PTFE/PFA) and silicone rubber decompose.
Engineered for continuous +450 °C service on industrial heat-treating furnaces, glass lehrs, ceramic kilns, and plastic extruders.
Cabled multi-core construction simplifies conduit and tray routing compared with pulling multiple loose single-core UL 5170 wires.
Colour-tracer coded glass-braided cores permit straightforward phase identification at high-temperature ceramic terminal blocks.
Fibreglass-braided mica insulation is designed for dry heat zones; for wet, oily, or washdown zones use FLAME ARREST LT.
Use FLAME ARREST LT for wet zonesConstruction
Type MG multi-core architecture: 27 % nickel-plated copper conductors, per-core phlogopite mica tapes + E-glass braid, glass-yarn fillers, and overall treated E-glass outer jacket.
| # | Layer | Material & reference |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 27 % Nickel-plated copper conductor | Flexible stranded 27 % nickel-coated annealed copper (ASTM B355 Class 27 / IEC 60228 Class 5)Thick 27 % weight nickel cladding prevents copper oxidation continuously up to +450 °C |
| 2 | Per-core phlogopite mica tapes | Helically lapped phlogopite mica tapes bonded with high-temp silicone resinPrimary 600 V AC inorganic dielectric barrier stable to +800 °C |
| 3 | Per-core E-glass fibre braid | Braided E-glass yarn with colour-tracer threads over each mica-wrapped coreLocks the mica tape layers in place during bending and provides core identification |
| 4 | Inorganic glass-yarn core bedding | Cabled cores with inorganic E-glass filler yarnsMaintains roundness and mechanical stability across thermal cycles |
| 5 | Overall high-temperature E-glass jacket | Heavy braided continuous-filament E-glass outer sleeve with silicone/PTFE saturantProtects the multi-core bundle against abrasion and radiant furnace heat |
