Fixed installation
Delivers < 50 % of the RF attenuation of solid-PE RG-213/U at 1–6 GHz while maintaining the same 10.29 mm (0.405 in) connector footprint.
Product
50 Ω flexible low-loss RF coaxial cable (LMR-400) Drop-in RG-8/U and 9913 upgrade with a 2.74 mm BCCAI inner conductor, gas-injected foam PE dielectric (85 % VoP, 78.4 pF/m), bonded aluminum tape plus tinned copper braid (> 90 dB shielding), and UV PE jacket.
Typical values for this cable type, based on IEC 61196-1 / MIL-DTL-17 RG-8/213 Footprint (50 Ω Low-Loss Flexible Coax) — confirmed in the datasheet and quotation for your order.
Application fit
Deploy LMR-400 for 4G/5G/Wi-Fi 6E outdoor antenna jumpers, LoRaWAN/SCADA telemetry masts, GPS/GNSS timing rooftops, WISP backhaul, and land-mobile base stations replacing lossy RG-213.
Delivers < 50 % of the RF attenuation of solid-PE RG-213/U at 1–6 GHz while maintaining the same 10.29 mm (0.405 in) connector footprint.
Closed-cell foam core resists moisture; LMR-400-DB adds polyisobutylene flooding compound under the braid for burial.
100 % bonded aluminum tape plus tinned copper braid provides > 90 dB RF shielding (> 30 dB better than single-braid RG-213).
Standard solid-BCCAI LMR-400 is for fixed routing; select LMR-400-UF (stranded bare Cu + TPE jacket) for flexing antenna rotators.
Use LMR-400-UF UltraFlexConstruction
Double-shielded .405" low-loss coax: Ø 2.74 mm BCCAI center conductor (or stranded Cu on UF), Ø 7.24 mm gas-injected foam PE, bonded Al tape, tinned Cu braid, and UV PE jacket.
| # | Layer | Material & reference |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Copper-clad aluminum (BCCAI) center conductor | Solid bare copper-clad aluminum Ø 2.74 mm (0.108 in) or 7-strand bare copper (LMR-400-UF)Full copper skin-depth conductivity above 5 MHz with low cable weight |
| 2 | Gas-injected closed-cell foam PE dielectric | Physical nitrogen-foamed closed-cell polyethylene (Ø 7.24 mm, 85 % VoP, 78.4 pF/m)Cuts microwave dielectric loss and prevents longitudinal water ingress |
| 3 | 100 % bonded aluminum/polyester/aluminum tape | Aluminum tape bonded directly to the foam PE core (Ø 7.39 mm)Eliminates tape buckling on tight 25.4 mm bends and ensures 100 % RF coverage |
| 4 | Tinned copper wire outer braid | ASTM B33 tinned copper wire braid (Ø 8.13 mm, ≥ 85 % coverage; flooded on -DB)Provides > 90 dB shielding effectiveness and low-resistance crimp termination |
| 5 | UV-resistant PE, FR-LSZH or TPE outer jacket | Black UV-stabilized PE (Ø 10.29 mm, 20-yr outdoor life), FR-LSZH (-FR), or TPE (-UF)Weatherproof outdoor protection across -40 °C to +85 °C |
Solid Ø 2.74 mm BCCAI center + UV-black PE jacket (with water-blocking gel on -DB)
7-strand bare copper + TPE jacket for flexing (-UF) or flame-retardant LSZH indoor riser (-FR)
