Application fit

Is H07G-R right for your machine?

Select H07G-R when cross-sections from 1.5 mm² to 95 mm² require easier conduit pulling than solid Class 1 wire while preserving rigid terminal stability without ferrules.

Furnace, kiln & high-temp zone

Suitable

Engineered for fixed feeder conduits, heater banks, and drying kiln distribution panels operating at up to +110 °C.

Switchgear & control cabinet wiring

Suitable

7-wire and 19-wire Class 2 stranding clamps directly into heavy cage terminals and compression lugs without splaying.

Fixed installation

Suitable

Designed for fixed installation in conduits, trunking, and cable trays in elevated-temperature plant zones.

Motorised monospiral reel

Not suitable

Class 2 concentric stranding is for fixed routing only; repeated flexing will work-harden the strands.

FAQ

Questions engineers ask first

Not covered here? Send your drawing — an engineer replies within 2 business hours.

When should engineers specify H07G-R instead of H07G-U or H07G-K?
Specify H07G-R for fixed conduit runs and heavy heater feeders above 6 mm² where solid H07G-U is too stiff to pull through conduit bends, or where terminal blocks are designed for rigid Class 2 conductors without ultrasonic welding or crimp ferrules required by Class 5 H07G-K.
How many strands make up the Class 2 conductor in H07G-R?
Per IEC 60228 Table 2, H07G-R cross-sections from 1.5 mm² up to 35 mm² use a 7-wire concentric lay, while 50 mm², 70 mm², and 95 mm² sizes use a 19-wire concentric lay of tinned annealed copper.
What is the maximum continuous and short-circuit temperature of H07G-R?
The cross-linked EI3 EVA insulation is rated for +110 °C continuous conductor temperature (+120 °C short-term peak) and withstands up to +250 °C during a 5-second short-circuit without thermoplastic melt-through.
Does H07G-R emit corrosive halogen gases if exposed to fire?
No. The EN 50363-1 Type EI3 ethylene-vinyl acetate elastomer is completely free of chlorine, fluorine, and bromine, meeting IEC 60754-1 and IEC 60754-2 halogen-free criteria.
