VFD inverter to AC motor screened feeder
Copper wire screen ('D') and magnetic steel tape armour ('B') achieve r_k ≤ 0.10–0.25 along AC traction lines.
Product
AJ-2Y(L)2YDB2Y H45 induction-protected railway telecom and axle-counter cable (DB 416.0115) for 15 kV / 25 kV AC rail lines, combining H45 (≤ 45 nF/km) star-quads, '(L)2Y' Al/PE barrier, copper wire screen ('D'), magnetic steel tapes ('B'), and HDPE jacket.
Typical values for this cable type, based on DB 416.0115 / DIN VDE 0816 AJ Induction-Protected H45 Railway Telecom Specification — confirmed in the datasheet and quotation for your order.
Application fit
Select AJ-2Y(L)2YDB2Y H45 for electrified 15 kV 16.7 Hz and 25 kV 50 Hz AC railway corridors where catenary traction return currents and short-circuits induce longitudinal voltages along trackside cables.
Copper wire screen ('D') and magnetic steel tape armour ('B') achieve r_k ≤ 0.10–0.25 along AC traction lines.
H45 low capacitance (≤ 45 nF/km) supports long-haul axle counters, ETCS LEU links, and trackside interlocking circuits.
Radial moisture is blocked by '(L)2Y'; if longitudinal jelly water-blocking is also needed, use AJ-2YOF(L)2YDB2Y.
Use AJ-2YOF(L)2YDB2Y for jelly-filled water blockingSolid copper star-quads, copper wire screen, and steel tape armour are strictly for fixed trackside installation.
Use JZ-50440 CP for drag-chain controlConstruction
DB 416.0115 AJ construction: solid copper star-quads with H45 2Y PE insulation (≤ 45 nF/km), (L)2Y Al/PE laminated inner sheath, helical copper wire screen (D), high-permeability double steel tape armour (B), and 2Y HDPE jacket.
| # | Layer | Material & reference |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Solid bare copper star-quads | Annealed solid bare copper wire (0.9 mm, 1.2 mm, or 1.4 mm) twisted in precision star-quadsHigh magnetic symmetry (k1, e1-2 capacitive balance) suppresses differential-mode noise |
| 2 | H45 low-capacitance 2Y PE | Low-permittivity polyethylene (2Y) core insulationMaintains mutual capacitance ≤ 45 nF/km at 800 Hz for long axle-counter blocks |
| 3 | (L)2Y Al/PE laminated inner sheath | Copolymer-coated aluminum tape fused longitudinally to an extruded PE inner sheathRadial water-vapour barrier and inner conductive screen layer |
| 4 | Heavy copper wire screen (D) | Helically applied bare copper wires / copper counter-helix over the (L)2Y sheathProvides the low DC screen resistance required for a low reduction factor r_k |
| 5 | High-permeability steel tape armour (B) | Two helically applied magnetic steel tapes with high permeability (μr)Boosts screen self-inductance at 16.7 Hz / 50 Hz so induced sheath current cancels core EMF |
| 6 | 2Y black HDPE outer sheath | UV-stabilised carbon-black polyethylene outer jacketInsulates the earthed armour/screen assembly and resists ballast abrasion |
0.9 mm induction-protected H45 star-quad cable for axle counters alongside AC catenary
1.4 mm induction-protected H45 star-quad cable for long-distance interlocking and block circuits
