Motor stator, traction & converter leads
Designed for compact 12 V / 24 V / 48 V starter motor, integrated starter-generator, and alternator leads
Product
STX is an SAE J1127 Type STX thin-wall cross-linked battery cable engineered for 60 V DC automotive and commercial vehicle starting and power distribution systems where routing space and harness weight are constrained. Combining rope-lay annealed bare copper c
Typical values for this cable type, based on SAE J1127 — confirmed in the datasheet and quotation for your order.
Application fit
Used in modern passenger cars, light- and heavy-duty trucks, and 48 V mild-hybrid vehicles where reduced outer diameter and +125 °C thermal capability are required in tight engine compartments.
Designed for compact 12 V / 24 V / 48 V starter motor, integrated starter-generator, and alternator leads
Smaller OD fits densely packed automotive wiring troughs, fuse boxes, and bulkhead grommets
Suitable for clipped under-hood and chassis harness routing
Suitable for vehicle battery harnesses; for extra-flexible rubber leads choose SGR
Not intended for industrial drag-chain motion

Rope-lay bunch-stranded annealed bare copper (SAE J1127); Thin-wall cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) thermoset insulation (SAE J1127 Type STX, +125 °C); Separator tape over rope-lay copper conductor strands where required for clean stripping; Integral single-layer thin-wall cross-linked XLPE battery insulation and jacket (Black or Red).
| # | Layer | Material & reference |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Conductor | Rope-lay bunch-stranded annealed bare copper conductor (SAE J1127)SAE J1127 |
| 2 | Tape | Thin separator wrap for clean automated lug strippingSAE J1127 |
| 3 | Sheath | Thin-wall thermoset cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) +125 °C insulation (Black / Red)SAE J1127 |
Reduced wall thickness lowers overall cable diameter by up to 1.5 mm compared with SGX, easing routing through congested engine bays.
Consistent thin-wall XLPE profile supports high-speed automated cutting, stripping, and ultrasonic or hexagonal lug crimping.
Links 12 V / 48 V DC/DC converters, electric turbochargers, and high-power electric power steering racks.
