FAQ

Questions engineers ask first

Not covered here? Send your drawing — an engineer replies within 2 business hours.

How many more copper wires are inside H01N2-E compared with H01N2-D?
Because cross-sectional area scales with the square of wire diameter, stepping down from 0.20 mm (Class D) to 0.15 mm (Class E) increases the number of individual copper filaments by ~78 %. For example, a 50 mm² H01N2-D contains ~1,590 wires of 0.20 mm, whereas a 50 mm² H01N2-E contains ~2,830 wires of 0.15 mm.
When is H01N2-E worth specifying over standard H01N2-D?
Specify H01N2-E for 6-axis robotic welding dress packs, cobot torches, manual TIG/MMA whip leads where welders manipulate the torch all shift, and sub-zero outdoor construction sites where maximum limpness is needed.
Do H01N2-E and H01N2-D use the same Dinse connectors and crimp lugs?
Yes. Both cables have the same nominal conductor cross-section and overall outer diameter limits under EN 50525-2-81; for Class E 0.15 mm strands, use flared-entry ferrules or copper tube lugs to capture all fine filaments cleanly.
When should a Water-Cooled Kickless Welding Cable be used instead of H01N2-E?
H01N2-E is a single-core air-cooled cable for arc welding (100–900 A). High-current automotive resistance spot-welding guns (8,000–25,000 A secondary current) require a Water-Cooled Kickless Welding Cable with interleaved 3+3 opposite-polarity conductors and internal water cooling.
