Spreader & Pendant Cables
Spreader and pendant cables connect the moving parts of a crane to its power and control system. Spreader cables run between the trolley or boom and the container spreader, which is raised and lowered in every lifting cycle, so they are built for fast vertical reeling, torsion and repeated bending. Pendant cables carry the control circuits of hanging push-button stations and must support their own weight. The TEBAOFLEX range includes vertical-reeling spreader cables such as RXX / RXX-D, TRA-RF and the self-supporting XTRM (N)SHT11Y, collector-basket cables such as the screened 3GSLTOE and the BSKT XPRT SYSLTOE FO with integrated fibres, the dielectric G62.5/G50/E9 fibre-optic spreader cable, and the self-supporting CRANE 2ST control cable for pendant stations. Depending on the construction, they combine PUR or rubber sheaths, reinforcement or steel support elements, bus elements and fibre-optic data. To select a spreader or pendant cable, state the crane type, the reeling system (motorised reel or collector basket), the travel height and speed, the number of power, control and data circuits, the required voltage, the temperature range and any bus or fibre-optic requirement. Send these details with your enquiry so the construction can be matched to the application.

Choosing spreader & pendant cables
Four things decide most selections. Our engineers check the rest against your application.
01 · Mechanical duty & installation profile
- Match minimum bending radius, travel speed, and tensile load to the active duty profile (Motorised monospiral reel, Cylindrical / multi-layer drum, Festoon & line chain, Vertical / spreader reel).
- For continuous reeling, festoon, or drag-chain motion, specify fine-stranded Class 5/6 copper conductors with central strain-relief or anti-torsion braid.
02 · Rated voltage & cable family scope
- This collection spans Reeling cables, Fiber-optic cables, Control cables, LSZH cables, grouped below so power feeders, control circuits, and data/optical links can be specified side by side.
- Account for voltage drop, ambient temperature derating, and symmetrical EMC screening on long runs or VFD motor drives.
03 · Standards compliance & outer sheath compound
- Verify the governing regional or industry standard required by the project specification (IEC, VDE/DIN, UL, BS, ICEA/MSHA, etc.).
- Use the outer-sheath filter to lock in PUR, heavy-duty EPR/PCP rubber, or low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) compounds for oil, abrasion, or fire safety.
